​Joakim Reiter is the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development. Immediately prior to joining UNCTAD in April 2015, Mr. Reiter served as a Deputy Director General with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sweden. From 2011 to 2014, Mr. Reiter held the position of Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Sweden to the WTO in Switzerland. From 2008 to 2011, he served as Minister Counsellor and Head of the Trade Section at the Representation of Sweden to the European Union in Belgium. Prior to his role at the European Union Directorate General for Trade in the European Commission from 2004 to 2008, he also held positions with the Swedish National Board of Trade, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Industry. He is a graduate of Lund University and the London School of Economics.

​M. Ibrahima Nour Eddine Diagne is the Managing Director of GAINDE 2000, the Chairman of the African Alliance for E Commerce (AAEC) and the Rapporteur of Africa of the UNCEFACT since 2006. Mr. DIAGNE has 20 years in depth experience on trade facilitation and paperless trade. Prior to joining GAINDE 2000, he was the Director of e-business at Trade Point Senegal. Ibrahima led the inception and implementation of the Senegalese single window from 1995 to 2002, and led the AAEC's single window Guide that groups 17 countries in Africa. Mr Diagne holds a B.Sc, MBA and M.Sc from HEC Montreal and HEC Paris.

​François Kanimba was appointed as Rwanda’s Minister of Trade and Industry in 2011 after a long career in the Central Bank of Rwanda, where he also served as the Bank’s Governor since 2002. Under his leadership as the Minister of Trade and Industry, Rwanda is developing new strategies to expand the export base of the country to reverse the growing trade deficit. Between 1984 and 1995, Mr. Kanimba also worked in the Ministry of Economic Planning where he developed a wide expertise in macro-economic management. He was the Chairman of the Governance Task Force which negotiated Rwanda’s first structural adjustment programme supported by the World Bank, the IMF and other development partners. Originally trained as an engineer, Mr. Kanimba has a degree in statistics and economics from the Paris-based European Centre for Training Economists Statisticians for Developing Countries.

​Engineer Khurram Dastgir Khan has revitalized Pakistan’s trade diplomacy. He spearheaded the successful campaign to obtain European Union’s GSP+ trade preferences for Pakistan and is currently leading the drive to invigorate Pakistan’s regional trade. Under his stewardship, the Ministry of Commerce has revamped national trade defence laws, obtained approval for Pakistan’s accession to TIR convention, and has commenced effective institutional reforms. Engineer Khurram Dastgir Khan was trained as an engineer at California Institute of Technology and also holds a degree in Economics from Bowdoin College, both in the United States. He is a Life Member of Pakistan Engineering Council.

Ms. Melin is a member of the European Commission’s Strategic Policy Forum on Digital Entrepreneurship, and represents eBay as a member of the World Customs Organization’s Private Sector Consultative Group. Before joining eBay, Ms. Melin was an associate at the law firm Sidley Austin LLP based in Brussels, practising competition law for five years. Ms. Melin holds a Master in International Business Law from King’s College London, she is a guest lecturer at the law faculty of Lund University (Sweden).

Ms. Ozsar Kumcu completed her undergraduate studies in International Relations at the Middle East Technical University. As a Jean Monnet scholar, she received her LL.M. degree in EU Law from the University of Nottingham and her Ph.D. degree from the Marmara University.

She has expertise in international trade, trade and development, digitization, and finance, and has published nine books, five of which are about regional trade agreements. She previously served as Fellow at the German Marshall Fund (2010-2012) and Trade Economist at the Inter-American Development Bank (2003-2010). She has collaborated in media as the Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, BBC, CSPAN, CNN, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, AFP, Politico, USA Today, Time, US News and World Report, Global Journal and Los Angeles Business Journal. She is a life member of the Council on Foreign Relations and American Assembly’s Next Generation Fellow.
