​Mr. Furrer is SECO's Head of the Economic Cooperation and Development Division and Delegate of the Swiss Government for Trade Agreements. His previous positions include Head of the Swiss Business Hub in the Gulf Countries, Consul General of Switzerland in Dubai, Head of the Multilateral Financial Institutions Unit in SECO's Economic Cooperation and Development Division, Senior Advisor to the Swiss Executive Director at the World Bank in Washington DC, Head of SECO's Bilateral Economic Relations with Asia, Head of a WTO section at the former Federal Office of Foreign Economic Affairs, First Secretary of the Swiss Delegation to the OECD in Paris, as well as various positions at the Asian Development Bank and in the private sector.

​Ricardo Marcus James is a trade diplomat, trade negotiator and policy advisor with over 20 years of progressive experience in multilateral and regional trade diplomacy and trade negotiations, trade policy formulation, implementation, analysis, advice, including extensive participation and representation at regional and international levels.
 Mr. James has headed the OECS Geneva Mission since 2008. Prior to coming to Geneva, Mr. James worked with the Government of Dominica in the Ministry of Trade from 1995 – 2008 starting as an entry level trade official and moving up the ranks to become the Director of Trade heading the trade unit within the ministry. In that role Mr. James coordinated the formulation and implementation of Dominica domestic and external trade policy and was Dominica leading representative and negotiator at the OECS, CARICOM and in the CARIFORUM-EU EPA negotiations.
During his tenure in Geneva Mr. James has been coordinator of the CARICOM Group in Geneva and interim coordination of the SIDS Group at UNCTAD. Within the ACP Group he is focal point on Trade Facilitation in which he played a key role in the negotiations on the new Trade Facilitation Agreement.
 Mr. James holds a Master of Arts Degree in International Political Economy from the University of Warwick and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Management and Economics from the University of Leeds.

Kozul-Wright Richard

​Mr. Richard Kozul-Wright is the Director of the Globalization and Development Strategies Division in UNCTAD. He has worked at the United Nations in both New York and Geneva. He holds a Ph.D in economics from the University of Cambridge UK and has published widely on economic issues including, inter alia, in the Economic Journal, the Cambridge Journal of Economics, The Journal of Development Studies, and the Oxford Review of Economic Policy. His latest book is the Resistible Rise of Market Fundamentalism (with Paul Rayment) and he has also edited volumes on Transnational Corporations and the Global Economy, Economic Insecurity and Development, Securing Peace, Climate Protection and Development, and Industrial Policy.

Eric LeCompte is the executive director of Jubilee USA, a coalition of 75 US organizations and 550 religious groups. LeCompte is a sovereign debt expert who serves on various United Nations expert working groups. In February he testified to the US Congress on a plan to resolve Puerto Rico's financial crisis. Mr. LeCompte's views on global poverty and economic policy appear regularly in the New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, CNN Money, the Financial Times and news outlets around the world.

Negatu Gabriel

Mr. Negatu is the African Development Bank Regional Director for Eastern Africa Regional Resource Center, based in Nairobi.

In this capacity, Mr. Negatu has direct oversight responsibility for thirteen countries in the region, namely: Burundi, Comoros, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Seychelles, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda.

His responsibilities include managing an active portfolio of over $6 billion, mainly in infrastructure—power & transport. He also manages the work of project structuring and lending in the public & private sectors. Mr. Negatu also oversees the Bank’s non-lending activities, including advisory services and analytical works.

Prior to his current position, Mr. Negatu was Director of the Bank’s Governance, Economic & Financial Management Department; with operations responsibility for Economic & Financial reforms and the promotion of good governance, in over 30 countries across the continent. Mr. Negatu started his career in the Bank’s Policy and Review Department and has held several senior positions.

Mr. Negatu regularly appears in print and electronic media and is a sought after speaker on Africa’s development challenges and opportunities.

Njoroge Patrick

​Dr. Patrick Njoroge was appointed to be the Governor of the Central Bank of Kenya, with effect from 19th June, 2015. In this capacity, he is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Central Bank and chairman of the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC).
 He holds a PhD degree in Economics from Yale University (1993), a Master of Arts degree in Economics (1985) and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics (1983) from the University of Nairobi. 
Dr. Njoroge joined the Central Bank from a varied career at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) spanning 20 years based in Washington DC. Prior to his appointment as Governor, Dr. Njoroge was Advisor to the IMF Deputy Managing Director from December 2012, where his responsibilities included assisting in overseeing the IMF’s engagement with a large swath of IMF members. He also served as Deputy Division Chief in the IMF’s Finance Department (2006-2012), IMF’s Mission Chief for the Commonwealth of Dominica (2005-2006) and in other capacities since 1995. Prior to joining the IMF, Dr. Njoroge worked as an Economist at the Ministry of Finance (1993-1994) and as a Planning Officer at the Ministry of Planning (1985 -1987). Dr. Njoroge’s professional and research interests lie in Macroeconomics, Economic Policy, International Finance, Development Economics, Econometrics and Monetary Policy.
